This class is designed for CEO’s, CFO’s, administrators, physicians, business office and assorted personnel who want an in-depth look at all aspects of medical billing. The participant will be able to explain the fundamentals of billing regardless of specialty, understand accounts receivable, the importance of EOB audits, NPI, LCD policies, the importance of financial counseling and a variety of other information pertaining to the art of billing.
Objectives:
- Understanding of work performed in business office settings; front office and back office
- Identify differences in hospital outpatient payments and physician/freestanding payments
- Fee Schedules – the importance of loading in Practice Management System and maintenance
- Understanding of documentation requirements, Medicare compliance, front office and billing office specific procedures and HIPAA specific information
