Participants will learn the correct descriptor and definition of CPT codes performed in a Radiation Oncology department along with documentation requirements and billing guidelines for all such procedures. This course is designed for clinical and non-clinical personnel who are involved in the clinical treatment of patients, documentation of procedures in the medical record as well as billing and compliance. Each procedure will be discussed in detail and coding scenarios will be addressed.
Objectives:
- Understanding of documentation guidelines and importance of appropriate documentation
- Understand the importance of establishment of the fee structure
- Recognition of CPT & ICD-9 coding for procedures related to radiation oncology
- To gain reimbursement for procedures performed within Medicare compliance
