Scott Plemmons  will be presenting a session on The Radiation Oncology Chart Review: Documentation, Coding & Billing Compliance. He will educate attendees on the process of care in Radiation Oncology, the necessary documentation of the services provided and the appropriate coding to apply to billable services.

Please join Tamara Syverson, Lisa Martin and Scott Plemmons at the SATRO 12th Annual Meeting.  Scott will be presenting a talk on Billing for Services Under the Performing Physician:  Who Does This Affect?  This talk is designed to educatie staff on the requirements for billing each service under the performing physician and the possible ramifications for failing to meet these requirements.  In addition, Tamara and Scott will be presenting an eight hour post-conference seminar on Saturday, May 1, on Reimbursement and Key Business Office Processes for the Successful Oncology Practice.  This seminar will cover process of care, documentation recommendations and billing for associated procedures and services performed in an oncology setting.

Join Ron for a presentation on Putting a New Face to Vertical Integration in these Tough Economic Times.  This frank discussion will outline some of the various business structures options that are seen in today´s oncology environment such as physician owned practices with a hospital affliation and multispecialty group practices.

Join Kelli Weiss as she presents a talk on Current Issues Affecting Dosimetry Billing at this regional meeting.  Kelli will be presenting the latest reimbursement information effecting the process of care within dosimetry.  New, updated and/or deleted CPT® codes will be included along with the latest trends in Medicare policies and payer initiatives.  The talk will include discussion regarding physician supervision and how it affects the daily work flow of the dosimetrist.  Additional discussion will include the proposed reimbursement changes for 2011.

Latest Reimbursement Trends and How They Will Affect Dosimetrists and Therapists
Kelli Weiss and Teri Bedard will be presenting the latest radiation oncology reimbursement information including updates from the 2010 final rule and the implementation efforts nationwide specific to Dosimetrists and Therapists.  Additional discussion regarding proposed changes for 2011 and if released prior to the meeting, specific information regarding the 2011 final rule will be provided. This course will also provide an update on physician supervision as it relates to radiation oncology.

Navigating the Medicare Website for Resources to Apply in Your Radiation Oncology Department
Tamara Syverson will present detailed information regarding use of the Medicare website to identify available resources to assist in daily coding and documentation within the Radiation Oncology department.  She will provide step by step instruction on navigating the Medicare website to identify and recognize regulations and policies pertaining to both Hospital Outpatient and Freestanding departments, as well as locating specific web based tools, manuals and educational materials to assist in maintaining a compliant department.

Drugs Are Not Just For Medical Oncology
Kelli Weiss and Sally Eggleston will present detailed information regarding the utilization, documentation and correct coding methods for drugs commonly used in the radiation oncology department.  Comparisons to medical oncology will be provided and how the patient management process and applicable billing for services could differ.  Understanding the proper coding techniques for drugs utillized in radiation oncology can ensure costs and potential revenue are not lost.

Certificate of Need (C.O.N.) programs are aimed at reducing health care facility costs and allowing coordinated planning of new services and construction.  State laws control spending, which seek to reduce overall health and medical costs by eliminating competition and allowing facilities to meet their demand.  Join Matt Terry and Ron DiGiaimo as they discuss the history behind the CON program, basic differences between the varied state laws and the possible benefits and detriments of each.
