There are so many details to be seen by simply reviewing the submitted claims and identifying patterns when it comes to abusive billing practices. In these cases, the inappropriate billing is already identified before the medical record is even reviewed. The show just gave us a small peek into a huge problem. With all of the other administratively burdensome regulations (PQRS, EHR, eScribing) happening it makes it difficult on small practices to keep their heads above water.
